OUR MISSION
The Youth Alliance for Mental Health (YAMH) supports people experiencing confinement through yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices and raises awareness about their mental health to cultivate well-being, balance, resilience, and community bonds.
Yoga, Mindfulness
and Meditation
OUR WORK
We share the healing practices of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices with the confined. We provide individualized, trauma-informed sessions to the vulnerable groups directly, whether in person or online - due to the inconveniences amidst the pandemic. In addition, with the hope of reaching and serving more people, YAMH provides resources, like guided mindfulness meditation sessions, on our website and on our Youtube channel.
Advocacy + Peer Education Awareness Raising
OUR WORK
We partner with mental health organization and schools to provide talks to youth around the world and raise awareness about mental health. We strive to destigmatize mental health issues and start conversations and dialogues. Also, we host conferences to share ways to look after one's mental health and invite guests speakers to talk and share their personal experiences as a means of empowerment.
YAMH grounds itself on research and evidence — on yoga, meditation, and mindfulness research studies, which show their physical and mental benefits. YAMH supports underpriviledged youth to cultivate mental and holistic wellness, through science-based approaches.
THE SCIENCE
OUR IMPACT
Since YAMH began in 2020, we have impacted over 10, 000 people worldwide. We've worked with vulnerable populations, particularly those experiencing confinement, in many places. Many of the events and activities we have hosted targeted to a larger number of audience has over hundreds of participants, offline and online. Our Douyin (Tiktok in China) has about 1100 followers and 2000 likes in total, and our Youtube channel has about 250 subscribers.
